I've been privately teaching drum set, percussion, guitar, ukulele and digital audio production in Austin for over 6 years, and I still get a thrill out of seeing my students progress in their instruments. My young drummers who tried out for school band under my coaching are all performing in the percussion section. My students who picked up the sticks for the first time as an adult are now playing with other musicians, and drummers who have come to me to further their musical training have reached new heights. I feel lucky to say coaching others to be great musicians is actually my job!

She has her Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from The University of Texae at Austin, where she was a teaching assistant for 4 years. She is a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers (faculty member), the Music Teachers National Association, the Texas Music Teachers Association, and the Austin District Music Teachers Association. Sukyee was recognized for her teaching excellency and received the 2010-2011 Pre-Collegiate Teacher of the Year Award from the Austin District Music Teachers Association. She served in the Executive Board of ADMTA, chaired competitions, and is now chairing piano festivals.
